3 Days Jam-Packed with Multi-Channel Expertise at EuroCIS 2013 in Düsseldorf

ECC at IFH Cologne will be organising the 2013 Multi-Channel-Forum for EuroCIS

After last year’s resounding success, the E-Commerce Center (ECC) at IFH Cologne will also be organising the 2013 Multi-Channel-Forum for EuroCIS to be held across all three days of the trade fair. Under the heading “Multi-Channel in Practice – Strategies, Concepts and Solutions” visitors are in for a colourful programme of diverse lectures with many impulses from corporate practice.

The Forum will open with a look into the future. Joubin Rahimi (Bluetrade GmbH) will discuss the future of E-commerce, accompanying in his lecture the 24-year old Maria Futura for one day as she uses media in the year 2020. Old thought patterns are questioned and new concepts for tomorrow’s communication outlined. How will the use of media and technology change in view of E-commerce? What possibilities will emerge and what challenges need to be met?

What will shops look like in the future?

What shops will look like in the future will be a question raised by Google’s Wolfgang Oberauer in his talk. Online shops will open offline outlets while bricks-and-mortar retailers will increasingly use the Internet. The shop of the future will cover many dimensions: Click & Collect, instore E-commerce and virtual stores, to name but three examples. Thanks to mobile check-out systems, in-store maps and augmented reality the retail experience will become a symbiosis of classic shopping and virtual elements.

Impulses from the practice will be given

Beyond these topics what will be of pivotal importance for the three-day Multi-Channel Forum will be the numerous impulses from corporate practice. Visitors to the EuroCIS can look forward to exciting papers delivered by multi-channel operators. Butlers, Emmas Enkel, Jack Wolfskin, and Runner’s Point, to name but a few, will provide insights into their strategies and measures.

Focal theme: Mobile

Another focal theme at the Forum is mobile technology and the integration of individual distribution channels through Smartphones. How Points of Interest can become Points of Sale in this context will be described by Achim Himmelreich from Mücke, Sturm & Company, while Karl Lohmann and Jens Hinkelmann of Itellium Holding GmbH will explain the impact of mobile technology on multiples and Klaus Jansen-Knor of JansenKnor & friends will share his knowledge about mobile payment.

Inspiration from beyond the borders

It is also essential in this context to look beyond your own backyard, your own national borders. Inspirations from abroad will be presented by Lars Rabe of Demandware who will walk listeners through the most important trends around the globe. Nicolas Schibler (PKZ Burger-Kehl & Co. AG) will also contribute a practical example from abroad in the form of the Swiss online fashion store Thelook.com.

All themes covered and speakers of the Multi-Channel Forum can be accessed by clicking the “Seminars & Awards” link on the EuroCIS website. All contributions will be interpreted simultaneously German/English. The Multi-Channel Forum will be held daily, from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm in Hall 9 Stand A 56.
