PantherMedia/martinkay19
High-quality and contemporary fashion: Online shoppers can find fashion’s hottest brands and products using the search engine Lyst and learn everything about the latest fashion must-haves. iXtenso spoke with Eva Lindner, Marketing Communications Lead Germany at Lyst, about product choices, trends and the future of e-commerce.
Mrs. Lindner, what sets Lyst apart from other fashion search engines?
Eva Lindner: Lyst brings together 6 million products from 12,000 of the world’s leading brands and stores in one place, offering the largest online selection of luxury and contemporary fashion. With a customer base that spans more than 150 countries, Lyst is the top fashion search engine in the world.
How can retailers collaborate with you?
The partnership with Lyst is free of charge. Our partners only pay a CPO (cost per order) fee based on actually purchased items. To streamline this process, all of our partners collaborate with an affiliate network. After successful negotiations, we can download product feeds and any product pictures of our partners, which are then edited and optimized by our onboarding technical team and finally presented on our website.
Your website features – among other things - a European Fashion Map. What information does this map present?
The European Fashion Map is one of our latest data-driven reports that studies online fashion search and shopping behavior across 47 countries. For the EuroFashion report, we analyzed 50 million search queries from 47 European countries over a period of six months. This data was combined in an interactive Fashion Map, revealing the biggest fashion trends and the online shopping behavior of each country.
What are the latest online shopping trends?
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to our shoppers. Searches including sustainability-related keywords increased 75% year-on-year, averaging 27,000 searches for sustainable fashion every month. The rate was 47 percent the previous year. Searches for sustainable materials spiked as well. Searches for Econyl grew 102 percent, organic cotton 52 percent, Repreve 130 percent, and Tencel 42 percent.
What is your take on how shopping behavior will change in the next ten years?
Lyst saw a 255 percent increase in traffic to fashion resale items this year. This shift in online shopping behavior among our users combined with the increasing popularity of our resale partners like Vestiaire Collective goes along with the growing consumer demand for more sustainable fashion. We expect the high growth of the fashion resale market to continue over the next five to ten years.
