Snabble introduces its technology to the stores of Edeka Rhein-Ruhr. Customers will be able to scan items with their smartphone while shopping and pay at payment-terminals at the exit.

First store launched will be Edeka Paschmann in Mühlheim, Germany. CEO Falk Paschmann has made his mark throughout Germany by successfully implementing self-scanning terminals. He operates ten stores in total.

“I am proud to offer our customers a great new way of shopping that is fast and convenient. It complements our already existing innovative store concept”, explains Falk Paschmann, CEO at Edeka Paschmann.

Thanks to the technical integration with Edeka Rhein-Ruhr, additional retailers and stores can be added effortlessly into the snabble app. We are already in talks with further business executives.

The possibilities offered by mobile self-scanning and self-checkout

The snabble app combines the idea of self-scanning terminals and modern online payment. Same as self-scanning terminals, the customer scans his items himself. This time while shopping, instead in the end at the checkout area. Thereby waiting in line, putting items on the belt and the repeated unpacking of the cart is omitted.

As of yet, payment takes place at existing cashstands (as express lane), self-checkout terminals (without scanning, just the payment) or at special payment-terminals. Generally speaking, direct payment from inside the app via debit or credit card is also an option. In addition, basically ever modern payment method can be integrated.
