Advantech Solution using Latest Options for the Intel® AtomTM Processor Z5xx Series – Digital Signage Box DSA-3020
Advantech’s latest digital signage players are intended to satisfy targeted communications such as out-of-home advertising campaigns, point of information, life broadcast, digital message boards, electronic signs, and more.
Utilizing the new package sizes for the Intel® AtomTM processor Z5xx series platform, these 2-chip, digital signage players will become more compact in size for higher integration than previous 3-chip solutions. The DSA-3020 represents Advantech’s latest digital signage box development.
DSA-3020 is a small profile, all-in-one Windows XPE ready network appliance and digital signage application control box. The Intel Atom processor Z5xx series platform gives it the power for HDTV decoding and multiple media processing. This compact, easy-to-implement network appliance enables centralized control, scheduling and delivery of multimedia content through IP/Ethernet networks. Built on an x86 platform and XP Embedded OS, it is easy for application development and can be integrated with PDPs (Plasma Display Panel) and LCDs with a multi-vendor networking environment. DSA-3020 will support WMV, MOV, H.264 and MPEG 1/2/4 video formats, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, GIF and PNG graphic formats and will be the right signage appliance for various applications. With only 10 W power consumption and a size of only 170 x 115 x 28 mm the DSA-3020 is well prepared for easy integration into Plasma display or LCD panel.
“The latest options for the Intel Atom processor offer exciting new possibilities in the development of high-performance, energy-efficient products, satisfying today’s requirements on low-power solutions“, said Wolfgang Heinz-Fischer, Strategic Marketing Manager, Advantech.
“We expanded the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series to include a larger footprint version so that our embedded OEMs would have a wider variety of design options for low-power systems,” said Jonathan Luse, director of marketing, Low Power Embedded Products Division, Intel. “This enables our long-term customers, such as Advantech, to gain new momentum in energy saving solutions.”
