TOSHIBA TEC Europe, a leading retail and industrial automation solutions provider, today announced the ST-A10, a durable and affordable TouchPOS system and winner of the coveted 2007 G-Mark Design Award in Japan earlier this month.
Bringing maximum connectivity, simplified cable management and an ultra-small footprint together helped secure Japan’s most prestigious Design Award. The new ST-A10 TouchPOS is the latest creation of the TOSHIBA TEC Design Centre in Tokyo under Takuro Masuda, taking styling clues from the Toshiba world-class laptop series.
One of 594 companies participating in Japan’s most prestigious Design competition, TOSHIBA TEC captured two out of three prizes for the Toshiba Corporation.
The new TRST-A15 receipt printer (double-sided) and the ST-A10 TouchPOS solution were chosen by the jury out of a total of 1,043 entries to underline that design is expected to play an ever greater role in our lives.
The ST-A10 TouchPOS touchscreen Point of Sales system will be offered to bakeries, hotels, bars, restaurants, service stations, food retailing, chemistry and pharmacies as well as textile and shoe retailing companies.
‘New Tree on the Block’
TOSHIBA TEC is strongly committed towards protecting the environment and publishes a comprehensive annual progress report since 2000.
The new A10 TouchPOS is fully in line with this tradition as the carbon footprint of the TouchPOS is minimized throughout the entire lifecycle of the product – from manufacturing to retail operations to a controlled recycling process.
Special Features
- The TOSHIBA TEC Design Centre packs maximum connectivity, simplified cable management and an ultra-small footprint together in the A-10 TouchPOS taking styling clues from our world-class TOSHIBA laptop series.
- Ultra-thin screen technology allows a picture-frame image for the cashier that includes well-lit screen edges for optimal use of the application. This and the best designed back side (i.e. the customer’s side) helped win 2007 G-Mark Award.
- Clickability: components such as hard disk drive, memory and power supply can easily be slotted in place by the shop’s own staff to minimize downtime and to reduce service visits: Plug and Play techniques accelerate adoption at the shop level.
- Options include interactive wireless USB cover, MicroDock modular Flash memory on disk with a USB 2.0 interface, card reader, i-button personal ID key and moveable or fixed line display units.
The A10 is the best value TouchPOS solution today and available now.
