The new Recording Station Appliance from Bosch (BRS) is a versatile, all-in-one IP video recording solution that can manage an entire surveillance infrastructure. It combines network video recorder (NVR) server, storage array, client workstation and integrated video management software in a ready-to-go ‘system in a box’. Built on a proven, reliable platform, it is the ideal solution for distributed network environments with up to 64 IP cameras per location. It is also simple to install, set-up and operate, requiring no certification or special training.
With real-time recording of HD (High Definition), SD (Standard Definition) and Megapixel video sources at resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 (3 MP), the BRS Appliance provides superb image clarity and detail. It combines high performance video management with minimal storage costs by supporting a variety of compression technologies including H.264 Main Profile from Bosch.
The BRS Appliance acts as a centralized remote management system providing quick and easy access to information from anywhere in the network, even over remote, low bandwidth WAN connections. A convenient, scalable and user-friendly interface allows various locations to be monitored simultaneously. Numerous hassle-free video management features include automatic alarm handling, e-mail event notification and fast, powerful search functions that eliminate time consuming manual searches.
Flexible integration options allow the BRS Appliance to interface with a wide variety of security and building management systems from Bosch and others. They include fire and access panels, ATM and POS terminals, as well as number plate capture and video content analysis solutions.
Several features make the BRS Appliance particularly suitable for installations that require higher levels of security. An automatic log-off, with a configurable time interval of inactivity, increases protection against unauthorized access. Also, two different pre- and post-alarm recording times can be set for each camera, while audio can be configured by event.
The BRS Appliance is available as both stand-alone, all-in-one tower PCs and rack-mounted server units, and comes pre-licensed for 8 IP cameras. Target applications include banks, retail, schools, fuelling stations, and any installation spread over numerous locations.
