Hoeft & Wessel receives follow-up order from Rewe
2,000 mobile Skeye terminals for data recording
Rewe supermarkets have placed a follow-up order with Hoeft & Wessel for 2,000 mobile terminals. The new Skeye terminals will be deployed for data recording purposes for ordering and receipt of merchandise and for stock-taking in the supermarkets in Germany.
Rewe, which ranks in third position in the European grocery retail trade, has been relying on mobile terminals from Skeye, the business unit for mobile solutions of the Hoeft & Wessel Group, since the 1990s.
The new Skeye terminals for the Rewe supermarkets will be equipped with WLAN modules and scanners. Data will be transmitted to the central merchandise management system by WLAN. If required, the system can also be operated offline. The data records are then transmitted from a communication station later. Skeye supplies a software-compatible solution for the merchandise management system of the Rewe supermarkets. The 2,000 mobile terminals are scheduled for delivery by the end of this year.
As one of Europe´s largest manufacturers, Hoeft & Wessel´s Skeye division provides a wide range of mobile terminals, e.g. for retail and logistics, as well as point-of-sale solutions. Skeye is the market leader in Germany´s retail sector.
