The interest taken in the world’s most important trade fair for retailers and their partners’ investment needs is as strong as ever. 11 months to the beginning of EuroShop, the World’s Leading Retail Trade Fair held in Düsseldorf from 16 to 20 February 2014, and registrations are coming in thick and fast. In the 15 EuroShop halls over 52,000 square metres of net exhibition space have already been rented out so far. April 2013 will see stand space allocation start.
“Current reservations clearly exceed those for the previous event at the same point in time,” reports Hans Werner Reinhard, Deputy Managing Director at Messe Düsseldorf, and goes on to say: “The conversations we had with exhibitors and retail experts show that EuroShop is the unrivalled No. 1 trade fair worldwide for all retail investment needs. Enterprises deliberately align their product innovations and product portfolios with the EuroShop dates.”
Held in 2012 the latest EuroShop was a record event – boasting 2,036 exhibitors from 53 countries on some 108,000 square metres of net exhibition space and over 107,000 trade visitors from all five continents. To keep things this way organisers in Düsseldorf are constantly fine-tuning this success formula. Which is why in 2014 the booming area of retail lighting will not only be catered to with a separate hall but a special area entitled the “Lighting Designers’ Zone” will be specifically set up for lighting designers for the first time now. In the Visual Merchandising area the Mannequin City concept will be developed further so that this area will become bigger and more open but will still be as elaborately designed as before. A Design Boulevard cutting diagonally across the area, various lounges, an event stage and young talent promotion will enhance Mannequin City.
Also new for EuroShop 2014 is the different order of days – running from Sunday to Thursday now rather than Saturday to Wednesday. This shift comes in response to requests voiced in participating sectors from both exhibitors and visitors alike.
Proven forums with high-calibre speakers such as the EuroShop Forum Architecture & Design, the ECO-Forum, the EuroCIS Forum, the Multi-Channel Forum and the POPAI Forum (all with German/English simultaneous interpretation) or Specials like the EuroShop Designer Village and the POPAI Village all complement exhibitors’ extensive ranges right amidst exhibition activities.
Also held once again in parallel with EuroShop is the renowned Retail Design Conference including the EuroShop Retail Design Award ceremony as well as the presentation of the coveted Retail Technology Awards Europe (reta).

EuroShop Basics:
In 1966 EuroShop was organised for the first time by Messe Düsseldorf and is held every three years. The EHI Retail Institute acts as the event’s conceptual sponsor. EuroShop is divided into four independent segments: The EuroConcept area pools themes like shop fitting, store interiors, lighting, flooring, Architecture & Store Design as well as cooling cabinets and refrigeration systems. EuroSales is the name of the segment presenting all facets of Visual Marketing and Merchandising while the EuroCIS sector is dedicated to Retail Technology. EuroExpoin turn unites exhibition architecture, design and events.
