NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) will showcase its comprehensive and innovative range of solutions for the retail sector at EuroShop from February 26 to March 2, 2011 in hall 6, booth # B75. The NCR booth at the leading international retail trade fair in Duesseldorf will be summarized under the converged retailing, or c-tailing umbrella.
Today’s consumer-driven commerce puts the customer first and replaces the traditional business-to-consumer model (B2C) with the consumer-to-business model (C2B), where consumers control their relationship with the retailer. Consumers increasing want to be able to use any combination of online, social networking, mobile and store channels when they shop. In response, NCR is demonstrating c-tailing solutions at EuroShop 2011 that deliver an exceptional shopping experience through seamless interaction between customers and retailers across all channels.
NCR’s solutions range from store automation software to hybrid scanners for digital coupons on smartphones, from modern energy-efficient checkout terminals to software for a personalized customer approach at the self-checkout, right down to convenient digital signage and kiosk management software for digital in-store advertising.
NCR EuroShop 2011 highlights
Connecting retail to the digital world – NCR will launch its retail transaction services (RTS) at EuroShop. As part of the c-tailing solutions, the store automation system supports retailers to manage consistent product, price and promotions data across in-store, online and mobile customer touch points simply and cost effectively. This makes it easier for retailers to deliver a seamless personalized ‘c-tailing’ shopping experience across digital and physical channels.
NCR hybrid scanner brings the mobile retail channel in-store – For the first time, NCR will demonstrate its innovative hybrid scanner for NCR self-checkouts at EuroShop. Thanks to the combination of digital image recognition and laser technology, it detects 2D bar codes on mobile devices as well as traditional bar codes on product labels. Retailers can offer customers a modern shopping experience, as customers receive offers on their smartphones anytime, anywhere to use as mobile coupons while shopping. This all-in-one solution enables retailers to deliver marketing campaigns and extend loyalty programs to shoppers on their mobile devices while reducing capital expenditures.
Seamless integration of e-commerce and store – The NCR Netkey digital signage and kiosk management software help retailers to roll out integrated marketing and sales campaigns across multiple channels quickly and easily. For example, it allows retailers to use multimedia content for digital in-store advertising and creates impulses to buy at self-service kiosks. Thanks to Netkey, retailers can transfer their e-commerce processes to their in-store business and customers can do their selection from the entire product line. Additionally, the system allows customers to set up personal gift registries, keep a wish list and make digital purchases.
Self-checkout with customer-specific design – With SCO Personalization, NCR is showcasing the industry's first software platform that offers customers a personalized shopping experience based on their individual preferences at self-checkouts. This helps retailers spread campaigns more effectively, reduce the service time at self-checkouts and increase overall customer loyalty.
Innovative and compact POS terminals – Also on display are four new POS terminals from the NCR RealPOS product line. NCR RealPOS 40 and NCR RealPOS 60 are the world's most compact POS terminals in their class offering high energy-efficiency and an attractive cost/performance ratio as well as a unique design. As a result of their low energy consumption, the new POS systems have been awarded international quality labels such as ENERGY STAR and MEPS 5.0. Thanks to their compact size, NCR RealPOS 40 and 60 take up less checkout counter space, giving retailers the ability to offer more merchandise in the high-traffic checkout area.
The new all-in-one RealPOS 25 and RealPOS 50 POS solutions benefit especially from their compact design, simple operation via the touch screen and their versatility. Retailers can use them as POS systems or as touch-based, multimedia kiosks for self-service applications. As part of NCR’s commitment to industry standard architecture, the new terminals provide an open platform for current and next-generation software applications.
NCR services round off c-tailing portfolio – NCR supports retailers with various services from the c-tailing environment to help create a consistent shopping experience for customers. The new NCR SelfServ Checkout Enterprise Suite enables chain store retailers to centrally manage self-checkout terminals across their entire network of stores. The NCR c-tailing Value Blueprint service offering accompanies retailers during the development and implementation of a c-tailing strategy and assists them with helpful analyses and tests.
Partners showcase solutions that supplement NCR’s core portfolio in a variety of retail segments: Dascus, friendlyway, Jarltech, Lime-Tech, MyMobai, SinCorNet and Tradesolutions.
