Comexposium announces the first edition of Paris Retail Week, to be held from Sept. 21 to Sept. 23 at Paris, France. This event, unique in Europe, gathers two tradeshows for the first time: E-Commerce Paris and Digital(in)Store by Equipmag.
With the goal of making Paris the capital of retail, these events bring together traditional commerce and e-commerce professionals from around the world. Programming is centered on helping industry players adapt to the major changes brought on by digitalization and mobile. Bringing so many global industry leaders under one roof means a rare chance for them to work together to share, analyze and solve challenges that face this ever-evolving ecosystem.
Few industries have experienced as much change as retail as a result of the digital revolution. Customers have new tools, new habits and new expectations for their shopping experience. A 2014 survey by French companies Mappy and BVA revealed that 97% of shoppers get information on products through various online channels, such as forums, social networks or comparison websites/apps, before buying online. 91% of them claim to be web-to-store consumers. According to the ROPO Center (Research Online Purchase Offline), 85% of people are “cross-channel consumers”, meaning they buy online and in-stores somewhat equally. Mobile devices now also give consumers access to any store or brand no matter where they are; the Q4 2014 State of Mobile Commerce Report by Criteo estimates that 40% of e-commerce transactions will be placed on mobile before the end of the year.
In this context, Paris Retail Week offers a unique opportunity to meet experts and decision-makers to decipher current trends and anticipate new ones in the online and offline retail industries.
One Event, Two Tradeshows
E-Commerce Paris is the largest European event dedicated to e-retailers with over 500 exhibitors and 30,000 attendees last year. Launched in 2004, E-Commerce Paris quickly became the place to be for e-commerce professionals, covering the entire e-commerce value chain from website creation to management solutions like marketing, CRM and logistics.
E-Commerce Paris offers more than 300 expert speakers, panels with representatives from the biggest retail platforms on the market, and plenary sessions revealing the strategic vision of key industry leaders.
The event includes numerous other highlights for attendees, such as small-group training sessions. Examples of such sessions include “Solutions Workshops”, “Early-Adopter Shared Experiences” and “Master Classes.” However, the premier moment of the event will be the E-Commerce Awards, rewarding the best innovations in e-commerce and cross-channel retail.
Digital(in)Store is an exclusive event organized by Equipmag, the leading Retail, Distribution and Point of Sales (POS) tradeshow with 500 exhibitors and 23,600 attendees last year.
The creation of Digital(in)Store answers a strong need from a market stimulated by new technologies and increasingly-mature, hyper-connected consumers. POS digitalization is becoming necessary for merchants, and the programming for the event is designed to aid them in this transition.
This new premium event highlights technologies at the service of offline stores to answer retail’s issues. For example, a “Startup Village” will allow attendees to discover innovative companies, presentations that will decipher key success factors for the future of retail, and conferences with French and International spokespersons.
In the interest of networking, the tradeshow also offers services to its exhibitors for business meetings. Exhibitors will be able to organize meetings with qualified influencers, project leaders or anyone looking for new solutions. Comexposium will also organize off-site events in parallel with the two tradeshows. While visiting the heart of Paris, visitors can attend store tours, networking events and more to make the most of their time in the city. Comexposium expects 35,000 attendees and 550 exhibitors this year. Both events will take place at Paris expo Porte de Versailles.
