Pendant Luminaire SILVER SURFER

Design: neunzig°design

Silver surfer concentrates the whitealuminium powder-coated (RAL 9006) luminaire into an equally elegant and functional area, which serves both as circuit board as well as carrier plate. The usage of state-of-the-art power LED technology almost fulfils every architect’s vision of having 'Light instead of Luminaires!'

The luminaire has a filigree appearance to it that borders on the de-materialized. Hence, to bring silver surfer’s advantages of evenly spread and linear light distribution to shine it is best deployed over long tables and counters. Mounted low over the table top the luminaire is absolutely glare-free. The view across the table is interrupted only by a fine line.

The aluminium housing of the luminaire makes intelligent use of the material features in a sensitive but extremely simple way: the flat cross section provides a large surface for cooling the 16 temperature-sensitive high-performance LED´s with a guaranteed life cycle of over 50,000 operating hours. The drawn-up ends allow the luminaire the swing itself exactly into a horizontal position. The power LEDs generate a precise grid of brilliant light points. The LEDs radiation angle is 45°.

The LED technology guarantees minimum energy consumption of only 16 Watt whilst providing a convincing luminous flux output of 1.280 Lumens at a colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin and of 800 Lumens at 3300 Kelvin.

By comparison, a 60 Watt incandescent bulb generates 710 Lumens. The luminaire provides an illuminance of 690 Lux on the desk surface.

The luminaire can easily be dimmed, the electronic transformer is integrated in the ceiling canopy.
