Unique Secure’s MePOS, the world’s first ‘5-in-1’ intelligent, modular, self-diagnostic, fully brandable tablet Point of Sale (POS) is now available worldwide.

Ideal for all retailers from micro merchants to global brands, the MePOS offers unrivalled ease of use, cost effectiveness, POS flexibility and impressive customisation opportunities.

Key to the MePOS innovation is the flexibility to set the POS up in five different positions to create three modes of selling – ideal for any requirement or environment.  From the traditional cashier mode with integrated or free standing PED (PIN Entry Device) to adjusting the set up to a stand-alone kiosk, to detaching the tablet and PED to provide a completely mobile point of sale solution - switching between selling modes is instant.

Simple and Secure

The MePOS from Unique Secure, the leading physical payment security company, has the potential to transform the POS space within the retail sector. It was identified as one of the most innovative new products launching this year when showcased at Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) 2015.

Powerful, Cost-Effective Branding Opportunities

One of the most striking features of the MePOS is its visual customisation capability, using high impact, powerful graphics. Every surface of the MePOS can be branded via the patented high resolution colour printing which is extremely durable and scratch resistant. This image skin seamlessly wraps around corners of the MePOS to provide an easy to attach, visual skin featuring any graphic imaginable - perfect for micro merchants (one-off skin prints available) to global organisations looking to extend their brand identity into the POS space.

As the cost for a skin can be as low as £40, Unique Secure believes demand will be high amongst retailers wanting to change image skins on a regular basis in order to promote seasonal offers or new products, making a striking feature of the POS real estate.

David Rimer, Unique Secure CEO comments, “The MePOS is the first step in our strategy to revolutionise the retail counter and provide merchants with the power and flexibility they desperately need. With this product merchants can, for the first time, make the POS a feature, designed to fit in with the look and style of the store. It is truly unlike any other POS or tablet-based system out there. The modularity provides retailers with complete flexibility, with five different set up positions and the ability to switch easily between traditional, kiosk or mPOS mode.

“One of the most innovative features of the MePOS is its intelligent diagnostic system which we call the ‘brain’. This not only runs across all devices attached but also performs set-up diagnostics every time it is switched on – in a similar way that your car does when the ignition is turned on. The ‘brain’ also continually checks all devices are working as intended. In the unlikely event of a problem, the user is notified. This saves the retailer a significant amount of time and money on support calls and maintenance.”

Place It Anywhere: No Front or Back

The MePOS base unit has an integrated Cognitive A798 thermo printer that allows for wireless printing in the mPOS mode. The unit can be placed anywhere in a retail environment as it has no front or back. Its small footprint saves valuable counter space and the overall dimensions have been calculated to provide the optimum distance between the retailer and customer.

Highly Efficient

The MePOS only requires one plug to run all devices (tablet, PED, printer, brain, scanner and cash drawer). This ensures a streamlined look and the added benefit of an overall reduction in energy usage of up to 17% in comparison to traditional retail POS set ups. The power supply has been specified to comply with the CEC Level VI efficiency standard set to come into effect in the US from 10 February 2016; the most stringent requirement to date for external power supplies.

Retailers source the tablet of their choice separately. All platforms are supported including iOS, Android and Windows. The MePOS has additional ports for a scanner, keyboard and cash drawer and a serial PED port included as standard. Drawing on Unique Secure’s heritage, the MePOS comes with integrated anti-theft security.

Additional Key Features

  • Ability to interchange tablets and PED’s
  • Multiple Bluetooth PED options
  • 90 degree PED tilt & 270 degree tablet tilt for optimum retail positioning
  • Tablet can be mounted in landscape or portrait mode
  • Changeable LED lighting, which brings the POS to life with a visually striking presence
  • Diagnostic colour changeable LEDs
  • Additional ports including an Ethernet port

Five Different Set Up Positions

  • Traditional cashier mode with integrated PED (Pin entry device)
  • Traditional cashier mode with PED free-standing
  • Traditional cashier mode with PED free-standing and MBU reversed
  • Stand-alone kiosk mode
