International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics has once again demonstrated its expertise by designing a high spec., entry-level receipt printer using the very latest leading edge components.

The TSP650 truly takes entry-level data processing to a completely new level. Capable of printing at a non-hesitating 150mm per second, the TSP650 offers unrivalled processing power and outstanding data throughput.

As with its USB counterpart the TSP100 futurePRNTTM, the TSP650 series represents excellent value for money given that a number of accessories are included at purchase as well as a range of additional options. For the TSP650, these include power supply, splash proof cover and display stand for vertical operation. As in-store or in-restaurant graphics can be attached to the back of the stand (facing the customer) this provides a low cost vehicle to promote the store’s latest attraction such as extra discount on the store credit card, etc. Furthermore, with its easy-load ‘Drop-In & Print’ design, the printer has a full or partial cutter, compact footprint and choice of two paper widths 58mm or 80mm.

The sheer versatility of this printer is further highlighted by its fast effective two colour output and its ability to print high quality barcodes for coupons or tickets on media up to 85gsm. Offering compatibility with the majority of POS operating platforms Star’s expertise extends from Microsoft Windows support including Mac OSXTM, Linux, Windows XP embeddedTM, etc. And, alongside providing either serial RS232C or parallel interfaces as standard, low cost USB and Ethernet options are available for future upgrades.

As Simon Martin, Director and General Manager, Star Micronics EMEA, states, “The TSP650 offers exceptional performance and functionality and clearly demonstrates Star’s continuing commitment to innovation while maintaining low cost and ease of use.”
