Review: Dallmeier at Security 2008

More visitors, more international flair – Security 2008 in Essen was a record-breaking event. Guests from 115 nations used the opportunity to see the latest products and services offered by more than 1100 exhibitors. According to the fair management, during the first two days the numbers of visitors was already 8 per cent higher compared to the last Security.

Even more impressive though is the increased number of visitors on the Dallmeier stand: attendances grew by more than 56 per cent compared to Security 2006! That highly successful result proves that the showcased products and solutions are addressing current trends and are in line with the requirements and perceptions of the customers.

The highlights on the Dallmeier exhibition stand were the new VideoIP range “a tribute to Amadeus”, the presentation of the VdS certificate for the VdS CertiSec Pack as well as the HD camera.

New VideoIP range „a tribute to Amadeus“

With the IP product line “a tribute to Amadeus“ Dallmeier has developed a perfectly coordinated VideoIP range. There is one particularly crucial factor with a professional VideoIP system, and that is the reliable functioning of the whole system. This kind of reliability is based on high-quality components which meet the highest demands in terms of reliability and stability. The most important thing however is the harmonious interplay of all elements within the complete system.

With its VideoIP solutions Dallmeier offers the customer everything from one source and perfectly coordinated. The individual components are thoroughly tested in advance in order to guarantee an optimal interaction. Open interfaces facilitate trouble-free connection with third-party products and complete systems. The customer acquires a complete system which guarantees the highest reliability. Furthermore, Dallmeier, as a provider of complete solutions, assumes responsibility for the entire system. The customer benefits from this as he is given one designated and competent contact for all questions and problems. Dallmeier does not limit its activities to simply selling individual products but also feels committed to sharing its know-how and experience with the customer and provide an optimal allround support.

A propos: Dallmeier has been marketing video network solutions for more than 10 years. So Dallmeier knows what IP is all about!

Presentation of the VdS certificate for the VdS CertiSec Pack

For the first time ever worldwide, the loss prevention company VdS GmbH, a company of the German Insurance Association (GDV), has not just certified an individual CCTV product but a complete video surveillance system, the VdS CertiSec Pack.

The first – and so far only – VdS certificate for a digital video recorder was awarded to Dallmeier electronic GmbH & Co.KG in 2002 for its Digital Video Recorder model DMS 180 III. This year the Regensburg based company once again proves that it has lost none of its innovative strength and capability whilst placing utmost emphasis on the security and reliability of a product during the development stage.

The official presentation of the certificate took place during the press conference at Security 2008. Mr Grundmann, the head of the laboratories for security applications at the VdS, handed over the certificate to Mr Dieter Dallmeier, founder and President & CEO of Dallmeier electronic GmbH & Co.KG. Many journalists and industry insiders attended the conferment. Dieter Dallmeier commented on the significance of the certificate: “Quality and reliability have always been top priorities for Dallmeier. The VdS certificate is further evidence that those values are not merely marketing terms but rather that our high quality standards are also confirmed by an independent testing centre which enjoys international reputation. That gives our customers further assurance and shows us that we are on the right track following our corporate philosophy "Quality made by Dallmeier - Quality made in Germany".

HD – High Definition

Another highlight at the Dallmeier stand was the presentation of a new development in the area of cameras: the HD camera. "The development of megapixel cameras for the area of security is increasingly turning out to be a dead end. The megapixel technology was initially developed for still picture applications i.e. digital photography. It is only conditionally suited for video. Therefore we have been focussing on the HD-TV video standard from the beginning”, says Dieter Dallmeier.
Dallmeier will also orientate itself towards TV standard when it comes to higher resolutions because only those standards guarantee the highest quality for video security applications. Visitors to the Dallmeier stand were wholly impressed by the apparent differences in quality. “A pin sharp image, really unbelievable. I haven't seen that kind of image quality with a PTZ dome camera on any other stand", one visitor declared.
