Retail’s BIG Show 2014 and 2015 Dates Remain Unchanged
The National Retail Federation issued the following statement from Senior Vice President Bill Thorne following discussions with officials from The Jacob K. Javits Center
“First, there will be NO changes to the 2014 annual NRF ‘BIG Show’ schedule, which will be held at The Javits Center between January 12 - 15, 2014. We also learned this morning from Javits Center officials that the BIG Show will proceed as scheduled between January 11 - 14, 2015."
“While we remain concerned about the unilateral and unprecedented decision by Governor Cuomo to move the New York Boat Show to mid-January starting in 2015, we are grateful for the accommodation by The Javits Center. NRF hopes that they can equally accommodate other important trade shows, meetings and events impacted by the governor’s actions.”
As the world’s largest retail trade association and the voice of retail worldwide, NRF represents retailers of all types and sizes, including chain restaurants and industry partners, from the United States and more than 45 countries abroad. Retailers operate more than 3.6 million U.S. establishments that support one in four U.S. jobs – 42 million working Americans. Contributing $2.5 trillion to annual GDP, retail is a daily barometer for the nation’s economy. NRF’s This is Retail campaign highlights the industry’s opportunities for life-long careers, how retailers strengthen communities, and the critical role that retail plays in driving innovation.
