Datalogic , a global leader in Automatic Data Capture and Industrial Automation markets, is proud to announce the availability of the QuickScan™ QBT2400 and QM2400 cordless imagers the latest additions  to the popular QuickScan 2D imager line of general purpose handheld scanners.

The popularity of 2D bar codes has spread across all market segments of the data capture industry.  As a result, imaging technology usage is steadily growing and is projected to continue this upward trend.  Datalogic’s QuickScan imager family offers more affordable pricing and high performance scanning through the use of area imaging technology. These imagers offer high speed and accuracy while reading 1D codes, various 2D codes and stacked codes such as the PDF417 code.  Wireless mobility helps the operator roam at the point-of-sale (POS).  Uses include shelf replenishment, inventory, price checking, the reading of mobile phone displays and loyalty cards. The presence of the patented Datalogic ‘Green Spot’ technology ensures good-read feedback in any environment.

The QuickScan QBT2400 2D imager employs Bluetooth® Wireless Technology allowing transmission of data to the host through its base station as well as to any commercial or embedded Bluetooth v3.0 device. This imager can also be connected to any tablet using either iOS or Android operating systems via the Bluetooth HID profile.  The QuickScan QBT2400 2D imager is now available globally.

The QuickScan QM2400 2D imager features Datalogic STAR2.0 Cordless System™ technology (433MHz only).  This narrow band radio provides secure communication with no risk of interference with Wi-Fi infrastructure.  It has very low sensitivity to obstacles like concrete walls, or metal shelves.  Presently, the availability of the QuickScan QM2400 2D imager is limited to specific geographic locations based on radio frequency certification requirements by individual countries.

“Datalogic has once again employed its inventive and innovative technological approach in the design and development of these two cordless imagers, while keeping the needs and comfort of its customers in sight,” stated Giulio Berzuini, GM & VP of Datalogic ADC Handheld Business Unit and VP Sales – ADC EMEA. “In doing so, we are proud to provide these ergonomic, durable and reliable imagers that ensure excellent general purpose scanning at a very attractive price.”

The design of the QuickScan imagers’ illumination and aiming system, consisting of the combination of two blue LED targeting triangles with a soft, dark red illumination results in reduced operator visual stress during daily scanning activities.  Other attributes found in these cordless scanners include: alternative battery recharging through USB/Micro USB cable; easy user-replaceable lithium-ion battery that  simultaneously changes the charging contacts; batch mode capability of +500 linear codes in memory; drop resistance to 1.5 m / 5.0 ft, IP42 water and particulate sealing rating and host download/remote management system capability.  Both provide a transmission range of 25.0 m / 82.0 ft.  Other uses for these versatile units, outside of retail markets, would include banking, access control, ticketing and postal markets.
