Poshmark launches the Posh Dressing Room
In-app styling experience matching shoppers with millions of stylists
Poshmark, a social marketplace for fashion where anyone can buy, sell and share their style with others, launches the Posh Dressing Room, a one-on-one styling experience between a buyer and a Seller Stylist that brings the essence of shopping in a physical boutique to online shopping for the first time.
Before the rise of online retail, shoppers walked into their favorite store and worked directly with a seasoned stylist who helped match them with merchandise that fit their style. With physical retail declining, the personalized shopping experience in stores has almost disappeared, and online shopping has never delivered the human interaction once associated with shopping in-store. With the Posh Dressing Room, Poshmark is delivering personal styling at scale, making shopping easier and more customized for buyers, while giving its sellers the opportunity to expand their online boutiques.
The Posh Dressing Room allows personal styling at scale
Every seller on Poshmark is a Seller Stylist, not only selling their personal style, but also curating items for the community. Since 2011, shoppers have turned to Poshmark Seller Stylists, who spend hours answering hundreds of questions and scouring for the latest trends, to understand each shopper's unique style and provide every buyer with a personalized experience. With the Posh Dressing Room, Poshmark is streamlining this process, making it easier than ever for Seller Stylists to seamlessly match buyers to the right inventory, allowing them to grow their businesses five times faster.
"Since inception, Poshmark has continued to launch new services – from payment protection to shipping to product verification to a new wholesale channel – that simplify selling, shopping and styling for our fast-growing community," said Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of Poshmark. "The Posh Dressing Room is our next major innovation that will make it even easier for our Seller Stylists to service their shoppers."
Demand for digital styling on Poshmark is exploding
Seller Stylists provide shoppers with customized styling recommendations on what to buy, curating seven million items daily, leading to a sale made every few seconds on the app. These customized styling recommendations are becoming the fastest driver of sales on the platform, with 75 percent of purchases coming from repeat buyers who regularly shop from the same Seller Stylist.
"I love helping people find the perfect look and Poshmark has empowered me to become a successful stylist on the platform," said Kristin Bachman, a Poshmark Seller Stylist from New York City. "Now with the Posh Dressing Room, it's simpler and faster than ever to share inventory with my shoppers directly, allowing me to expand my customer base so that I can continue to grow my fashion boutique."
