Ledon has introduced a new dimension to light

Ledon is a competent partner driving innovation in the field of light emitting diodes. Relying on innovative LED technologies, Ledon focuses on the development, production and marketing of high-performance digital XED light sources as well as varied lighting solutions for individual applications.

The 100% subsidiary of the Zumtobel Group, an Austrian group of companies active in the lighting industry, with production sites in Lustenau (A), Jennersdorf (A) and Morbach (D), is constantly developing highly advanced technologies, generating pioneering LED concepts in combination with progressive applications, which use light as a medium of communication. Using top-quality durable products and unique application know-how as a basis, Ledon implements highly energy-efficient, integral lighting solutions. These enable to use LED technology in combination with conventional lighting and to respond flexibly to the requirements of modern architecture, art and design. As an internal supplier, Ledon makes its wide-ranging, universal LED competence available to other group brands, at the same time opening up new areas of application, such as entertainment, furniture and showcases, as well as automotive and medical engineering.

New LED organisation for dynamic growth
With effect from 1 May, Ledon will become the competence centre for LED within the Zumtobel Group. With effect from financial year 2008/09, beginning on 1 May, the activities of the former LED start-up company Ledon Lighting (Lustenau), Lexedis Lighting (Jennersdorf) and TridonicAtco Optoelectronics (Jennersdorf) will be combined within the Zumtobel LED Division and under the Ledon brand.
The operating activities of Lexedis Lighting will also be integrated into the new LED division, so that Lexedis XED products will be marketed in future under the Ledon brand. Ledon thus positions itself as a group-wide LED specialist that continually drives the development of new LED technologies in an application-oriented way, in order to open up new business segments such as furniture and showcase lighting, medical technology and the automotive industry. Within the Zumtobel Group, a flexible and effective platform for planned growth within the LED sector will thus be created.
