Hoeft & Wessel and Summit form strategic alliance
Skeye mobile terminals equipped with high performance wireless LAN modules
Hoeft & Wessel, a leading manufacturer of mobile terminals in Europe, has formed a strategic alliance with Summit Data Communications, a provider of wireless LAN radio modules and cards for business-critical mobile devices. Skeye, Hoeft & Wessel’s mobile terminal division, will equip its devices with the latest Summit Wi-Fi modules to ensure secure and reliable wireless network connections in the most challenging operating environments.
A key differentiator for Summit solutions is support for Cisco Compatible Extensions, or CCX. All Summit embedded Wi-Fi solutions are certified for Version 4 of CCX, the highest level of Cisco compatibility for business-critical mobile devices. Thanks to its use of a Summit solution, the Skeye mobile terminal named skeye.allegro is certified for CCX V4.
In addition Summit Wi-Fi solutions support all key industry standards, including the top industry standard for Wi-Fi security, known as the Enterprise version of Wi-Fi Protected Access 2®, or WPA2®-Enterprise. It is easy to configure Hoeft & Wessel devices for even the most secure networks, including those that are compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
With the new Summit wireless LAN technology, Skeye will be able to meet the increasing number of customer requirements for its rugged and ergonomic mobile terminals and tablet computers.
