Hoeft & Wessel AG affirms positive forecast for 2009

Operations at U.S. location to be extended

At the ordinary annual general meeting, Hoeft & Wessel AG affirmed its positive forecast for the current financial year. The IT hardware and software specialist anticipates an increase both in sales revenues and earnings for fiscal 2009. According to the forecast, sales revenues this year are expected to exceed 98 million euros, with the operating result (EBIT) amounting to more than 4 million euros.

At the company’s annual general meeting, Hansjoachim Oehmen, CEO of Hoeft & Wessel AG, emphasised the high degree of diversification within the Hoeft & Wessel Group. “Via our three business divisions, we provide our individually tailored products and systems in specific market segments. Moreover, our international business is becoming increasingly significant. Thanks to this broad positioning, we can successfully defy the difficult economic fundamentals prevailing at present.”

For the Almex division, which provides ticketing systems for the public transport sector, the good trends witnessed in previous years are expected to continue, with further increases in sales revenues. This year, the Parking division run by the Metric subsidiary has reported gratifying developments, with sales revenues expected to rise accordingly. Following a large-scale contract award in the U.S. along with additional orders placed, the U.S. location will be extended, accompanied by a two-fold increase in the size of the workforce. The Skeye division, which supplies mobile terminals to the retail and logistics sectors, has met with investor reluctance in these segments, indicating that sales revenues will remain slightly below the previous year’s level.
