Germany's largest delicatessen and supplier of fine foods FrischeParadies has started the roll-out of the complete POS solution of AWEK, comprehensive provider of POS systems. Utilized are software and hardware, as well as services by AWEK. The required interfaces for the connection to the ERP-system of SAP were developed by AWEK in advance.
FrischeParadies supplies best quality foods to gastronomy and retail. The range consists of more than 5,000 foods and includes a full range of fish, meat, poultry, fruit, vegetables, cheese and milk. The area of expertise of FrischeParadies rests in the daily food-supply of gastronomes, as well as food-collection by Cash & Carry principle. In addition, the stores offer private customers the option of purchasing foods from the premium sector.
Beginning this year FrischeParadies dines at large even with POS systems. The recipe for the replacement of the existing environment of PC’s at FrischeParadies by AWEK´s clear approach includes the POS hardware smartPOS with touch screen in combination with scanner, printer, card terminal, and a scale unit. The checkout operates with the software euroCASH. Via the web-based administrative software euroCONTROL FrischeParadies generates central accounts, daily statements and reports. Moreover, the article table for the look-up of items at the checkout is maintained centrally.
Special flavor is being added to the launch of the new POS-system by connecting it to the ERP-system of SAP. Specifically for this reason AWEK developed an interface for the supply of master data to the SAP system. Beyond the mere maintenance of product data, it is thus possible to maintain customer data centrally in the SAP system and transfer the data down to checkout level. Hence, making it easy for the cashier to always find the right customer data.
Specification for the POS-system and merchandise management for billing wholesale customers was an easy task to fulfill. While private customers will receive invoices with gross amounts, business customers require invoices with net prices. The checkout must therefore correctly depict wholesale market functions, as well as provide the opportunity to generate delivery notes and invoices directly at the checkout.
"The performance of the checkout makes our work notably easier. We save a good deal of time, because the process at the checkout is much faster than before," says Oliver Seifert IT director at FrischeParadies. “Even at peak times, we now can serve our customers quickly and, thus improve our service."
After the first successful installation of the POS-system in January of this year at FrischeParadies in Hamburg, the next installation followed in February in the store in Stuttgart. The other six stores with a total of 32 checkouts will be rolled-out successively until the end of his summer in Germany and Austria.
