EuroCIS in Düsseldorf from 28 February to 01 March 2012: The Entire Retail-specific Know-how of the IT Sector
Europe’s Leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology Expands its Multi-channel and E-Commerce Solution Offers Registration Deadline for Exhibitors: 12 September!
The world of retail meets in Düsseldorf for EuroCIS, The Leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology, from 28 February to 01 March 2012. More than 200 exhibitors from 20 countries will present their latest retail-specific solutions in Düsseldorf. More than 5,000 visitors from approximately 50 countries are being expected. Currently, preparations are in high gear, since the registration deadline for exhibitors is 12 September. After this date, the halls will be allocated.
Every year at EuroCIS, users and suppliers can get up to date with regards to offer and demand, respectively. The offer range at EuroCIS is tailored specifically to the needs of retailers. It includes cash systems and check-out solutions, payment systems, mobile solutions, inventory control systems, digital in-store solutions, POS technologies, weighing systems, RFID, business intelligence and CRM, as well as cash management, merchandise security and loss prevention.
Recently one development has been defined as particularly important and irreversible for retailers: Customers are becoming multi-channel shoppers who wish to get their information and inspiration when and where they want, be it at home at the computer, on their smart phones or at in-store kiosks. Those retailers who succeed in optimally melding all sales channels and who are able to offer their customers tailored services networked to stationary retail outlets in a digital format are very well prepared for the tough competition for the customers’ attention.
For this reason, EuroCIS will expand its offer range specifically towards multi-channel and e-commerce solutions as of 2012. Ulrich Spaan, Member of the Board of Management of the EHI Retail Institute, welcomes this step, “For retailers, an optimal customer approach using the sales channels stationary retail, web and smart phone represents an extremely important strategy. The technology required for a comprehensive multi-channel strategy is a serious challenge for retailers. Thus, the expansion of the e-commerce segment is an important step for EuroCIS as Europe’s leading trade fair for IT decision-makers in the retail sector. It allows us to offer our visitors a wide range of innovative technology solutions now and in future.”
In the upcoming year, EuroCIS is again accompanied by an excellent supporting programme. The highlight will be the presentation of the coveted retail technology awards europe (reta europe) by EHI Retail Institute on 28 February 2012. This award is presented for outstanding and innovative use of information technology in the retail sector (attendance by invitation only).
The EuroCIS forums will be held on all three days during regular opening hours. They offer exciting presentations on interesting developments in the area of retail technology. Current case studies, innovations and trends are presented jointly by exhibitors and their customers. The topic focus in this regard will also include multi-channel retailing. Participation in the forums is free of charge for all trade fair visitors.
The last EuroCIS in February 2011 was integrated as a segment into EuroShop, the world’s largest capital equipment trade fair for the retail sector and its partners. In the gap between the three-year cycle of EuroShop, EuroCIS has been existing as an annual independent trade fair for the last 15 years.
For the first time next year, it will occupy Exhibition Hall 9 (about 13,000 m² gross display area) of the Düsseldorf exhibition grounds. This offers even better orientation and more comfortable connection to public transit, since Hall 9 is adjacent to the main entrance (Messe Nord/North) and connected to the underground station there.
EuroCIS 2012 is open for trade visitors from Tuesday, 28 February 2012, to Thursday, 01 March 2012, daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. 1-day tickets are € 22, (€ 15 for online advance tickets); 2-day tickets are € 38 (€ 27 online advance). Students and apprentices pay € 10. Also included in the ticket price is transportation to and from the fair grounds on the public commuter system (VRR).
