EPoS workstations - JS-950 ‘Stingray’
Panasonic revolutionises the EPoS market with Stingray
Panasonic System Solutions Europe introduces the new benchmark in EPoS workstations, the JS-950 ‘Stingray’. The revolutionary new Stingray is set to transform the EPoS market thanks to its flexible open architecture and versatile modular construction that provides lower total cost of ownership.
Stingray’s innovative approach derives from the simple concept of providing users exactly what they need. Its open platform means the Stingray will evolve as business needs change allowing both software and hardware upgrades at any stage in its lifetime, significantly lowering the total cost of ownership.
The open architecture of the Stingray means it will run virtually any operating system of the customer’s choice from basic off-the-shelf options to custom POS applications. Software and hardware can be configured with the selection of components and capabilities that best meet users’ specific needs.
With the highest speed processor and up to 2 GB of built-in RAM, Stingray is ideal for stand-alone applications and can also be integrated into a LAN network to run the most demanding back office operations. Stingray can also run multiple software applications to further extend its functionality and overall efficiency. In addition, Stingray is backwards compatible meaning existing peripheral devices can continue to be used and gradually replaced as and when needed for maximum cost-efficiency.
Stingray’s 15” or 12” dual back lit LCD adjustable displays deliver high-resolution, high-contrast images and are available with resistive or capacitive touch screen technology so that Stingray can be perfectly adapted to the intended working environment. Stingray’s 15” display can also be mounted for portrait or landscape orientation providing flexible use even in areas of limited space.
The unit features the use of several storage modules including hard drive modules and a CF-card module. A rear-facing, 2 or 4 line customer display/order verifier is optional, as well as a built-in point of purchase (POP) display or a full screen interactive LCD display. This display can function as an order confirmation display as well as advertisement area allowing interaction with the customer.
