Global catering services provider Delaware North has awarded the contract for a new electronic point of sale (EPoS) solution to support its hospitality operations at London’s Wembley Stadium to Verteda Ltd, the leading EMEA provider of hospitality software solutions.

This powerful and scalable solution – which initially involves the installation of more than 800 EPoS terminals – uses InfoGenesis™ POS technology from Agilysys, Inc.

“We’re very pleased to be working with Verteda at the UK national stadium,” says Paul Adey, CFO, Delaware North UK. “Verteda has consistently proven its abilities to deliver stadia-centric solutions, and this market-leading system is a fantastic foundation to build upon, providing even more opportunities to enhance the customer experience.” With 90,000 seats, Wembley Stadium is Europe’s second largest and the UK’s biggest stadium; it is a UEFA category four stadium. The Football Association owns the venue through its Wembley National Stadium Ltd (WNSL) subsidiary.

Paul Adey adds: “Verteda was selected following a demanding 10-month trial, during which it proved its ability to deliver at this level. We were particularly interested in ways to ensure an even better customer experience, with Verteda also able to deliver reliable contactless payments across the stadium. We’re looking forward to working together on other exciting developments.”

Deployment of the POS solution for Delaware North saw Verteda work with key hospitality partners including Epson, AURES Technologies for hardware, Triple Jump Technologies for revenue and assurance management, Elavon for payment processing/merchant services, and C24 for hosting and application delivery.

Adrian Burns, Managing Director of Verteda Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be working with a provider of the calibre and reputation as Delaware North and in such a world-class location. Whilst our reputation and client list played a part in Delaware North’s selection, the real decider was putting our POS solution through its paces in a competitive trial extending throughout 2014 and across multiple events. We proved its award-winning capabilities, which will provide the strongest foundations for a fully integrated approach across multiple systems and business requirements.”

Delaware North also operates restaurants, food and beverage concessions at other leading UK venues including Craven Cottage (Fulham FC), The Valley (Charlton Athletic FC) and The iPro Stadium (Derby County FC).
