Upgrade for the large 65-inch model of the professional display series from Sharp
The two current 65-inch models in the series of professional displays from Sharp are the PN-G655RE and the PN-G655E. In Europe Sharp started its line-up of professional LCD-monitors with the predecessor model PN-655E. Its successors also impress with whisper-quiet fanless operation, large 1.65-metre screen size, resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and an exchangeable "four wavelength" backlight unit.
LCD technology has conquered the market of professional monitors. For the first time at the ISE in Amsterdam, Sharp is presenting two highlights of its forthcoming line-up, namely: the PN-G655RE and the PN-G655E – being the next generation of the successful PN-655E monitor. These two displays set new standards, because now the customers can decide whether they wish to use the device in portrait or landscape mode, and will find the ideal respective solution in these new LCD monitors.
The PN-G655E display is suitable for the prevalent landscape mode, what means usage of the screen in horizontal format. The PN-G655RE is optimised for use in portrait mode because of the rotated backlight unit. The background lighting of both of these professional monitors has a calculated minimum service life of 50,000 hours when operating the integrated advanced super view panel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There is also no fan noise with these two successor models as well, as both operate completely without fans, and are thus completely silent.
The light intensity and contrast ratio have been significantly improved in comparison to the predecessor model. The devices PN-G655RE and PN-G655E provide a light output of 450 candela per square metre, and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. In addition, the viewing angle has been widened, and is now 176 degrees from all perspectives.
Whether in CAD/CAM construction, in design studios, in switch rooms, in control rooms, or as an advertising display in trade outlets, professionals will enjoy these two new Sharp monitors. Each of the monitors captivates with its diagonal of 65 inches (1.65 metres) in 16:9 format, which provides a good overview. The native full HD resolution with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and the pixel response time of six milliseconds, with 16.7 million displayable colours and eight-bit colour depth ensure precise image reproduction which, particularly in professional applications, is essential. Whether static content, or rapid image sequences, the new generation of PN-G655 screens from Sharp can display whatever is required, without any problems whatsoever.
The versatility of the PN-G655 devices is evident in their range of possible applications: by coupling up to four displays in the horizontal and in the vertical (also 2x2 and 3x3) video walls can be generated and show one shared large-scale image. The landscape monitor PN-G655E also provides the picture-in-picture function. As a split-screen device is already integrated into the display, there is no need for an external device, even when using several monitors as a video wall.
Both PN-G655 devices support the resolution standards VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, WVGA (848 x 489, 852 x 480), WXGA (1,280 x 768, 1,360 x 768) and 1,920 x 1,080.
The various inputs and outputs round off the diverse features offered by these monitors: FBAS (BNC), YUV (BNC), PC analogue (15-pin Sub-D) and PC digital input and output (DVI-D), two 7-Watt speaker outputs via Cinch (input / output) and PC analogue (3.5- millimetre plug).
