New Mobile Solutions for Logistics Applications
Just in time for the international logistics fair Transport & Logistic, in Munich Germany, Datalogic Mobile will be presenting its latest news. From May 10. – 13. the company will be present in hall B2, booth 319/418 showing its new mobile solution, the PDA Elf. Elf has been developed for Field Force Automation as for example courier and fleet management applications.
For navigation, positioning and communication on the road and at the customer, Elf is equipped with Assisted GPS and UMTS HSPDA.The crystal clear 3,5“ Touch Screen Display makes data entry and reading easy even in bright sunlight or dark environments. In order to quickly take pictures of e.g. damaged packages, the device is equipped with a 3MP camera with flash.
Based on the Microsoft operating systems Windows Mobile 6.5, the PDA is offering a familiar user interface.
Depending on the application the user can choose between different model options: with laser scanner, or 2D Imager and a choice of two keypads - numeric or QWERTY layout.
With the dedicated powered vehicle dock the batteries can be loaded on the vehicle and at the same time the PDA can be used as a navigation system.
Thanks to its IP64 protection class the Elf is resistant to water and dust and can be used indoors and outdoors.
