Retail agency Visual Thinking has announced a new high-level addition to its team, with the appointment of retail design heavyweight, Carl Smallshaw.
In his new position Carl will touch many aspects of the agency's work for major UK and international brands, along with evolving its core disciplines and expanding the agency's presence overseas.
Carl brings with him a wealth of retail experience having worked for the clothing brand George for 18 years, most recently as its store design manager. In that role he managed the in-house design team, overseeing the creation of the brand's instore environment within UK Asda stores and internationally at George franchise stores.
Founded in 1993, Visual Thinking helps global brands create outstanding retail experiences and improved instore performance - providing brand marketing, visual merchandising, and retail training services.
Karl McKeever, founder and managing director of Visual Thinking, believes that Carl's experience will put the company in an even stronger position to benefit from the continuing growth of the retail sector. "We are delighted to welcome Carl to Visual Thinking," he said. "With his strong retail design pedigree and instore expertise, he represents a great coup for the business as we continue to expand and diversify the agency's proposition to retail brands keen to unlock improvements in instore performance. Carl's expertise will support Visual Thinking as the agency continues to expand its range of services beyond just visual merchandising, but also into retail design and store format work, as well as its expanding work overseas with high profile international brands. "
Carl is one of three new recruits to a Visual Thinking team that has almost tripled in size over the past two years. The company has also confirmed the appointment of Kirsty Kean as Senior Business Development Manager, whilst Lisa Lawson and Suzanne Tanner join the business as VM Consultant and VM Project Manager respectively.
