Torex provides new POS System to Center Parcs
Center Parcs will be deploying the Torex OSCAR-POS solution in the shops of its holiday village in Bispingen, Germany. Thanks to the new system, the company will have fast access to fresh, complete retail data.
The Center Parcs IT landscape has evolved over time and currently features heterogeneous POS (point of service) systems in the company's shops in the park area. The solution that had been in operation in the Lüneburg Heath town of Bispingen since the park's opening no longer met the operator's demands and was due for replacement.
After a thorough evaluation, Center Parcs in Bispingen chose the Torex OSCAR-POS solution. In addition to the usual POS functions, the system’s comprehensive reporting and analysis options will help the company monitor and control sales activities in the park's supermarket, bakery, ice cream parlor and other establishments. OSCAR-POS can be linked directly to EDEKA's EBUS application, allowing master data to be communicated to the individual points of sale with ease. The backend configuration for Center Parcs in Bispingen consists of an HP ProLiant rack server with an MS SQL database and a variety of checkout points, service points for shops and touchscreen systems with integrated checkout scales.
OSCAR-POS offers the company a long-term perspective by managing all Center Parcs POS systems with a single application. “Torex's solution is a state-of-the-art POS system that delivers a broader range of data and simpler reporting,” noted Robert Debije, Manager Service Support at Center Parcs in Bispingen. “We can also rely on them for comprehensive hardware and software service. We were already impressed by Torex's professional consultation and support during the planning phase of our project.”
