Varlink, the York based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor, is pleased to announce Opticon’s lowest cost 1D/2D wireless scanners, the new OPR-1101 and OPI-1101.

Both the OPR-1101 and OPI-1101 incorporates Zigbee 2.4Ghz, which provides users with highly reliable scanners that consumes less power, making them more cost effective to purchase and run, but also prolong battery life. The Zigbee 2.4Ghz allows the scanners to comfortably perform in a range of 100m outdoors and 30m indoors. This enables users the freedom to move around without being restricted by tethered cables and eliminates potential hazards.

With a drop spec of 1.5 metres on concrete the OPR-1101/OPI-1101 is suitable for warehouse, manufacturing, logistics and retail environments. Anti-Microbial versions are also available making the scanners perfect for healthcare environments. The scanners can be wiped down with harsh chemicals and are ideal for applications such as identifying patients, medicines and materials which help reduce errors and improve accuracy and efficiency.

The OPR-1101 is a high speed and aggressive 1D scanner capable of a scan rate of 100 scans per second and is able to read a wide range of symbologies including 1D codes and GS1 DataBar.

The OPI-1101 is a powerful 2D CMOS imager capable of reading even the most difficult to read barcodes, either printed or on mobile phone screens. The scanner is perfect for the retail environment to scan data matrix codes on products or mobile phone barcodes for e-ticketing and coupon redemption.

Weighing just 140g, these sleek, lightweight devices fit comfortably in the hand making them suitable for all-day scanning applications.

With plug and play ability the OPR-1101/OPI-1101 the installation process is shortened allowing the user to quickly connect and operate the scanner. A cradle option is also available for both devices enabling hands free scanning.
