Spar South Africa: Decision for the innovative POS solution dStore
After several successful pilot installations during the last 12 month the contracts between The Spar Group Ltd and POS Systemhaus GmbH were signed.
Spar will rollout dStore to all new stores from 2010 and will convert the balance of its 1200 independent retail outlets over the next 3 to 5 years. POS Systemhaus’ professionalism as well as their wide base of installations convinced us that dStore is absolutely applicable for the African market.” Enno Stelma, CIO of The Spar Group Ltd.
For POS Systemehaus this means that dStore will be installed on another 7.000 cash registers over the next 3 to 5 years, to add to the existing total of 60.000 cash registers. Besides South Africa, dStore will be installed in Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland an Zimbabwe.
Michael Übleis, CEO of POS Systemhaus considers the African market as a strategic growth market which offers good opportunities of business development in addition to the European Market.
dStore will be used with Windows XP and Windows 7 – the local ERP system will be Dewas a product of the German company Superdata.
