New fire planning software to cover the full value chain
One for all solution from Bosch
Planning fire alarm projects is a challenging business, since it needs to include different parties at different planning stages along the value chain but also has to provide quick answers when it comes to initial budgeting and calculation.
With the latest version, Bosch has updated its proven planning software for fire alarm systems as a central comprehensive solution for all the parties involved: architects, planners, consultants and system integrators. Version 4.1 now includes the functionality of the Fire System Designer (FSD) – a tool to layout and design fire detection systems from Bosch in detail – and thus also reduces the software requirements for integrators to just one unified platform.
This easy-to-use program supports the user to create a complete tender and to estimate prices. It also enables to precisely design the fire alarm system, including the allocation of peripherals on different loops in accordance with the actual topology, while a complete plausibility check ensures that every project detail is considered. The software is particularly popular due to its generic terminology and intuitive navigation, allowing for use with virtually no training. Planning software 4.1 provides unified documentation for easy hand-over of data between the project partners without data loss and is flexible enough to cover individual requirements, such as project and country-specific products or company-specific information, including own logos and company data or specific tender copy.
Further, calculating a project is greatly simplified by the integrated power-consumption and material-bill calculator, with a detailed price calculation based on product ordering numbers (SAP) for system integrators.
“With version 4.1 of our fire alarm planning software we took project planning for fire protection to the next level,” explains Johannes Stauber, Product Man-ager at Bosch Security Systems. “4.1 now reflects the complete value chain and is the only software necessary in future to plan and calculate fire alarm systems both thoroughly and comfortably.”
The Windows-based software monitors the compliance with EN regulations such as EN54-13 and VdS 3536, and is available in 16 languages for a global implementation and use in international projects. It is released in May 2013 and can be downloaded free of charge.
