Kaufland offers a completely new shopping experience with ist new store concept. The markets convince with their new, noble and highquality appearance. Modern colors combined with light wood and a new lighting concept create a pleasant atmosphere. Thus Kaufland presents even better its strengths in quality, choice, freshness and price. The branches are equipped with the latest technologies such as innovative refrigeration and air conditioning composite technology, photovoltaic systems, and quick-charging stations with green electricity for e-bikes and e-cars. Efficient LED lighting and refrigeration cabinets with glass doors save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.

With their compact POS system, the POS specialist was successful for the European market in their tenders for Kaufland. Decisive for Kaufland was primarily a significant reduction in service costs per month per POS station and a fast return on investment. The calculation of the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) with all acquisition costs, energy costs and costs for repairs and maintenance convinced everyone.

While Kaufland previously used modular systems, the new compact system also changes the appearance of the POS. Besides the numerous economic benefits, the architecture is one of the main plus points of the POS system. “We really like the concept. Slim design, robust character and above all easy access to all components. This also affects the service process. With the new system, it is safer and faster,” says Sven Homes, Head of IT at Kaufland Information Systems. “We prioritise fast response times and reliability of our partners.”

Since 2017, the POS specialist supplies Kaufland with the compact system including a scanner, printer, and peripheral devices as well as servers. “The POS system is actually maintenance free, fanless and immune to dust and dirt, and is extremely reliable,” explains Axel Gassen, Chief Strategic Sales & Channel Manager DACH at Aures Technologies about their compact solutions. “Bottom line, this is a very economical solution for our clients. The reduced service costs are a clear benefit and, moreover, the POS system simply provides the perfect appearance at the POS.”
