The IGEL one is designed for user environments with up to 250 users. These environments include single campus schools and colleges, manufacturing production lines as well as small to medium businesses where sophisticated management software is not required.
Customers can choose from one of five different protocols for the IGEL one to best meet their needs. The supported server-based computing solutions include Citrix® XenApp, Microsoft® Terminal Services, Ericom PowerTerm Webconnect, Cendio ThinLinc and NoMachine NX. The preferred solution can be chosen when the devices are booted for the first time. The device is then automatically locked to this solution.
The IGEL one is extremely cost efficient and ideal for businesses looking to deploy terminals for centralised application delivery such as office-based applications. The IGEL one also has a VNC client onboard, enabling businesses to provide centralised remote IT support from a helpdesk.
“As an entry level thin client device, the IGEL one is a simple and cost effective desktop solution providing all the thin client benefits of improved security, lower power usage and better reliability. And, as businesses look to cut their computing costs in these difficult economic times, the IGEL one is the perfect device for businesses that do not require a fully managed desktop,” said Simon Richards, UK General Manager at IGEL Technology Ltd.
