Skeye, the business division for mobile solutions of the Hoeft & Wessel Group, has supplied 600 of the latest-generation mobile terminals to the food discount supermarket chain Netto Marken-Discount. A further 400 systems of the skeye.allegro series will follow this year.
At the Netto Marken-Discount branches, the mobile terminals will be used to record orders and for inventory management. Data transmission to the central merchandise management system is via WLAN or network stations. The company operates around 4,000 branches throughout Germany.
Netto Marken-Discount has been relying on mobile solutions from Hoeft & Wessel since the 1990s. The leading-edge ergonomic design of the skeye.allegro model currently being rolled out makes for easy and safe single-handed operation using keys or the 2.8 inch touch screen.
With this follow-up order, Hoeft & Wessel is consolidating its dominance as a supplier of mobile terminals to the German retail sector. dk
