EuroCIS 2010: An Important Step Toward the Future
EuroCIS, Europe's leading Trade Fair for IT and Security in Retail, takes place from 2 to 4 March 2010. In halls 13 and 14 of the Düsseldorf fairgrounds, more than 200 exhibitors from Germany and abroad are expected to fill 16,000 square metres of gross exhibition area. Preparations are already running at high speed—15 September 2009 is the registration deadline for exhibitors, after which the layout planning begins.
The Entire Retail-Specific Know-How from the IT Industry
In order to be competitive in the retail trade of the future, modern IT is indispensible in virtually every sector. EuroCIS is unique in Europe as a trade fair where the overall retail-specific know-how in the IT sector is concentrated and where all relevant themes for the future are presented. The spectrum ranges from checkout solutions, payment systems and inventory control systems to supply chain management, weighing systems and RFID to business intelligence, electronic article surveillance and inventory management.
Special “DigitalSignage@Retail” becomes “communication@retail”
Successfully launched at EuroCIS 2009, the special "DigitalSignage@Retail" area returns in 2010 with a noticeably larger area (400 sq m) and an enhanced concept. “communication@retail: the show for new ideas for digital instore communication at EuroCIS 2010” is the new title now reflecting the wider cross-section of solutions presented. In addition, the special area will be visually more striking than it was previously to create a self-contained themed area for special suppliers of digital signage and other innovative communication solutions at the POP. Again in the upcoming year, part of the special area is a daily forum with interesting lectures around the hype of digital POP media. “communication@retail” will be supported by POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International) GAS, who is also accountable for the first-class panel.
EuroCIS Forum Bilingual
An additional highlight at the upcoming EuroCIS is the already proven EuroCIS Forum in hall 14. Here exhibitors and their customers present current case studies, innovations and trends, as well as interesting developments in IT and safety technology. Admission to the EuroCIS Forum is free and the lectures will be simultaneously interpreted (German/English).
EHI Award Ceremony
The expected 5,000-plus visitors from more than 30 countries benefit not only from the spectrum of offerings at EuroCIS that is especially tailored to them, but also from an excellent supporting programme.
The retail technology awards europe (reta europe) from the EHI Retail Institute for especially innovative IT solutions in retail will be awarded for the third time (by invitation only). The Wissenschaftpreis Handel (Science Award Retail)—co-sponsored by EHI and GS1 Germany—is awarded for extraordinary scientific work that picks up on innovative ideas and allows applicability in retail (by invitation only).
