Visual Merchandising with Fresh Promoter – “Delicatessen” promotion stand: all in one solution for independent retailers
Sales promotion at the fresh foods counter is at the heart of the presentation by scales specialist METTLER TOLEDO at this year’s EuroCIS (Hall 14, B 67) – here is a preview of the most important presentations of the exhibition.
EuroCIS-Highlight: Debut for the Fresh Promoter
With the Fresh Promoter for the UC3-Line touch screen scales, METTLER TOLEDO is presenting their new, web-based application for visual promotion at the service counter for the first time. Fresh Promoter comes with a modern user interface for intuitive operation. This makes it extremely easy to develop, implement and manage sales promotion campaigns directly at the fresh foods counter. The media editor of the Fresh Promoter provides users with a wide range of tools and functions with which advertising screens and campaigns for the scales can be compiled quickly and conveniently. Playlists can be categorised according to weighing groups such as fish, deli and meat counter, even in combination with regional information. Fresh Promoter can be integrated directly into existing IT infrastructures and stands out with excellent scalability and flexibility. Thus, retail chains can can upload and manage the content on their own content server, grant their marketing department or advertising agency access to it and manage the recordings for the scales in their subsidiaries online from any computer.
Weighing – advising – checkout: A fully integrated, high-performance solution for independent retailers
With a “Delicatessen” promotion stand, METTLER TOLEDO is demonstrating live how retailers can take the sales situation to an entirely different level, with a fully integrated solution that enhances the advisory skills of your staff during the sales conversation while simultaneously optimising their working processes during weighing and at the checkout. While visual sales promotion and cross-selling campaigns wet the customer’s appetite on their side of the display, the staff can provide excellent advice thanks to direct online access to an extensive knowledge database from the scales. Need a recipe while shopping? They are available directly from the recipe printer at the delicatessen counter. Convenient for training staff is the eLearning Centre, which staff members can use during off-peak periods to access training programmes, for example cleaning and hygiene tips directly from the scales. The application at the promotion stand is based on the award-winning software PRESTIGEnterprise for price and advertising communication from the METTLER TOLEDO partner Online Software AG.
The delicatessen promotion stand integrates weighing and checkout into a fully integrated solution. Convenient payment by direct debit or delivery note and monthly invoice for commercial customers? All this and more is possible – thanks to the high-performance METTLER TOLEDO checkout software, which combines weighing and checkout into a single working environment including the reporting system and a connection to the inventory management. A single-source solution that is highly attractive for independent retailers in particular.
Virtual Checkout Display: VCODisp transforms the checkout area into a comfort zone
Retailers who weigh at the checkout have more design options in the sensitive checkout area with the Virtual Checkout Display VCODisp: this software tool enables the display of cash register information and weighing data on the checkout monitor as well as on separate displays on the scales. This considerably expands the scope retailers have in designing the checkout area. They can do without using separate displays for scales in order to create more space at the checkout band, or complement the display of the weighing information on the monitor of the cash register with an extra display at the end of the checkout band – where the customers pack their shopping. VCODisp displays all weighing information from the scanner scales such as article text, net weight, tare as well as kilo-price and end-price of the weighed goods. The layout of the display, its position, font size and colour can be freely defined within legal regulations. This way, retail chains can adjust the colour and lettering of displays to their own design requirements.
Eco-friendly scales at the fresh foods counter
In the face of climate change, sustainability is increasingly becoming a distinguishing feature in food retailing. METTLER TOLEDO is pursuing the concept of sustainable technology at the fresh foods counter with energy-efficient weighing solutions. At the EuroCIS the company is demonstrating how electricity consumption at the fresh foods counter can be reduced by up to 25 per cent with intelligent energy-saving modes and displays that can be turned off with a time-switch.
