In Helf Etiketten GmbH, Bizerba acquires an established labels specialist on the Austrian market. The solutions provider for weighing, slicing and labelling technology will, in future, hold 90 percent shares in the Austrian business, which is based in Wiener Neudorf. Helf’s customers include numerous producers from the food and non-food industries, as well as retail users. The 65 employees at the label print works will continue to run the Lower Austrian site.

“The company’s expansion in the German-speaking region emphasises the important role of the labels business for our overall portfolio”, explains Andreas Wilhelm Kraut, Managing Partner of the Bizerba Group. “We have already been able to strengthen our position in the industrial field with the takeover of Swiss company Busch AG in mid-2014 and French inspection specialist Luceo in March this year. The takeover of Helf is a logical step to enable us to grow closer to the region and to operate more forcefully in the industrial sector.”

“In Helf, we are acquiring an established player with modern processes and production methods in the region, which also improves our market access in the direction of Eastern Europe and creates synergies”, says Joachim Zeiler, Managing Director of Bizerba Austria and future Managing Director of Helf. “This puts us in a position to produce high-quality labels from small batches through to industrial quantities, and thus to react quickly and deliver promptly. This improves our market position in Austria above and beyond the food industry. Support for Helf’s existing customers will continue to be provided in the tried-and-tested way.”
