Hoeft & Wessel receives large-scale order for 720 automatic ticket machines from Canton of Geneva
Almex automatic ticket machines for the first time also with solar power supply
The Almex business division of Hoeft & Wessel AG has been awarded a large-scale order for 720 stationary automatic ticket machines by the transport corporations of the Canton of Geneva (Transports Publics Genevois - TPG). The contract volume is in the double-digit million range. TPG opted in favour of Almex within the context of a public tender.
The Almex brand stationary travel ticket vending machines are to be set up at bus and tram stops within the Canton of Geneva during 2010 and 2011. 200 machines feature a new, pioneering technology that makes it possible to reduce electricity consumption. Solar cells are sufficient for an independent power supply, making the new terminals completely independent from the electricity grid. As a result, transport companies are given absolute freedom in choosing their locations.
Through its Almex business division, Hoeft & Wessel will deliver a complete system, including application software, for these vending machines, as well as an SAP solution for integration into the central systems of TPG. Another option Almex offers the Geneva-based transport corporation is long-term service for the system as a whole.
