OSRAM’s new Online Light-Consultant demonstrates how modern lighting solutions can provide efficient electricity cost savings. The digital planning aid at www.osram.com/Light-Consultant assists with regard to energy-saving and economical lighting for individual projects. It calculates the given savings potential and illustrates how emissions of the climate-changing greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide (CO2), can be reduced.
Sustainability and environmental protection are firmly anchored in OSRAM’s corporate culture. The company’s global campaign “Switch to Climate Protection” shows that customers and the environment profit equally from the use of energy-saving lamps. The new, free OSRAM Light-Consultant, which helps to save money and protect the climate at the same time, also dovetails perfectly with this campaign.
Switch over to climate protection and profit with OSRAM lamps
The user-friendly OSRAM Light-Consultant is the ideal planning aid for electricians, traders, shop owners and lighting designers. It can calculate electricity consumption and costs over a period from one to fifteen years for a range of scenarios in offices, industries, outdoor areas or shops. In doing so, it compares standard systems with OSRAM’s energy-saving lighting solutions and indicates potential savings. Sample illustrations show the differences when it comes to illuminating a room or a given area.
Reduce CO2 emissions and protect the climate
OSRAM lamps not only use less energy but also contribute to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. This too is taken into the Online Light-Consultant’s calculations. Small trees symbolise how much climate-changing CO2 can be avoided through the use of OSRAM lamps. For each calculation, the number of trees which would be required to absorb the corresponding quantity of CO2 is displayed. The practicable energy saving of the respective type of lamp provides the Calculation basis for the reduction of CO2 emissions. It is converted with an energy mix of 0.5kg per kilowatt hour.
Customised calculations
In addition, those using the Online Light-Consultant have the option of applying the sample scenarios to specific lighting projects, by changing the parameters such as area to be illuminated, number of lamps or lighting hours per year. Afterwards, the user can save his customised calculation or print it out. In the Case Studies section, he can also take a look at some of OSRAM’s completed lighting projects or, using the provider search feature, locate the closest expert providers of OSRAM products.
