Store Design and Shopfitting at EuroShop 2017

Shopfitters, designers, lighting experts: They all have to work hand in hand to design the ultimate store

Needless to say, this is also always an issue of time, driven by an opening date that’s as early and as much on schedule as possible.

Trends are increasingly moving towards customized shopfitting solutions: brands and products are being staged exclusively and are preferably always bound by a common thread: storytelling. One continuous brand story should be told across all distribution channels.

EuroShop visitors can obtain information from numerous experts – about all of the elements it takes to implement a store concept.

Comprehensive shopfitting

18 exhibitors in one place: the joint booth of the German Shopfitting Association DLV gives a 360-degree view. “Interested parties can find competent contacts, ranging from shopfitters to flooring manufacturers, first and second-tier contractors, POS marketing all the way to service providers,” explains Dr. Wolfram Krause and adds, “Nowadays, customers take a profound knowledge of the various trades for granted as a prerequisite. With its services, the Association is an important contact and supports its member companies in building a competent network and expanding industry relevant knowledge.“ (Hall 10 / Booths E22 and E42)

Customized shopfitting requires certain components to also exhibit a modular design – as is the case with trade show booth construction. At this year’s EuroShop, a special area illustrates what modular architectural systems can look like and how they can be used. “Thank you, Burkhardt! Burkhardt Leitner’s 50 years in design“ pays homage to the work of designer Burkhardt Leitner. It will be opened with a vernissage on 03/05/2017 at 2:00 PM by Akin Nalça, Managing Director of Burkhardt Leitner Modular Spaces GmbH and Andrej Kupetz, General Manager of the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung). (Hall 5 / Booth G42)

Anyone who plans a new store or wants to make changes to an existing one should include all components right from the start. After all, well-planned and scheduled processes prevent costly and time-consuming changes. Many service providers at EuroShop know this type of planning like the back of their hands. They include companies such as Bohnacker Ladeneinrichtungen GmbH from Germany (Hall 13 / Booth A94), the Kingsmen Projects Pte Ltd. from Singapore (Hall 12 / Booth A69) or the L&S Group srl from Italy (Hall 11 / Booth H38).

Leaving for greener pastures: Sustainability is the future of shopfitting

A responsible approach is playing an increasingly important role in production as well as logistical processes and materials. The shopfitting company TREND-Store is a trailblazer when it comes to “sustainable shopfitting“. Managing Director Dr. Christian Hilz emphasizes transparency in production processes as an important feature. He also views trust between manufacturer, shopfitter and client as the basis for great customer loyalty.

As a tool for optimal planning, digitization is also gaining importance in this instance. The shopfitter introduces several solutions designed to make these processes more transparent. “We will illustrate the possibilities the 3D scan of a store offers retailers, such as a binding data model for expansion, acceptance and facility management for example. What’s more, our app offers customers the chance to monitor the relevant data, milestones and decision points for the respective project in a location and time independent manner. Certificate of origin for the used material components is also provided.“ How customers can use a configurator in the future to change store design on their own, is revealed in an interview at EuroShop.de with Dr. Hilz, titled “Shopfitting: "Sustainability is a Driving Force and not the Antithesis of Design". (Hall 11 / Booth H55)

Even the smallest spaces have room for visual effects

It is often underutilized and yet offers so much room for more creative design at the POS: the floor of a store. With its product “Fotoboden“, the visuals united AG Company shows how easily printable vinyl flooring can be installed – with any type of motif of your choosing – ranging from a soccer field to a meadow all the way to abstract motifs. In no time at all, small or very large surfaces can get an entirely new look. A simple tool at the POS to visually define areas and complete settings.

Lighting as a design element

The importance of lighting in shopfitting has exponentially grown. Modern LED technology enables continuously changing lighting scenarios. The advantages for retailers are unbeatable: they enable precision product staging, create ambiance, provide food-friendly temperatures and offer enormous potential energy savings.

From consulting to planning all the way to new lighting products: EuroShop is able to fully satisfy interested visitors. The Lighting Designers‘ Zone (Hall 10 / Booth C46), the Italian Lighting Lounge (Hall 9 / E 25-27) and many other manufacturers offer the entire spectrum. Find out more by clicking here.
