Nordstrom Rack to relocate Sugar House Store
The approximately 36,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in spring 2019
Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. plans to relocate its Rack store to a new, larger location within the Sugar House Shopping Center, in Salt Lake City, UT. The property is owned by Dees, Inc.
The new location is in a building directly next door to the current Rack, near the new Springhill Suites and Whole Foods Market. It is conveniently located off of I-80 freeway, approximately three miles from the downtown business district.
"Nordstrom Rack has been happy to be a part of the Salt Lake City community since we first opened our doors here back in 1991," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. "We look forward to continuing to serve customers in this larger, updated location we think will offer a great shopping experience."
Today, there are four Rack stores in Utah and two full line locations. Nordstrom has been serving customers in the state since it first opened at Fashion Place in 1981.
"The new Nordstrom Rack solidifies the Sugar House Shopping Center as a premier shopping destination," said Wade Olsen, president of Dee's, Inc. "Dee's is excited to continue the long-standing relationship with Nordstrom Rack in the Sugar House Shopping Center."
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offering customers a wide selection of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at an everyday savings of up to 70 percent off.
Nordstrom Rack is the largest source of new customers to Nordstrom and is a great introduction for new customers who may have never shopped at one a Nordstrom full-line stores. Nordstrom Rack is able to leverage Nordstrom full-line stores to offer customers a mix of merchandise from Nordstrom stores, or from many of the top brands that are carried in Nordstrom and then sell directly to Nordstrom Rack before other off-price retailers.
