Works to upgrade the InterCityHotel Vienna have been ongoing since February. Renovations are being carried out in all 179 rooms including the hotel's six apartments and six rooms with roof terraces offering views of the Austrian capital.

Whereas the hotel's bathrooms, lobby and lounge area are getting a full overhaul, the conference rooms, restaurant and conservatory are the objects of a less drastic modernisation programme. A fresh lick of paint is also being applied to the facade whilst the lighting concept will feature a resplendent new look.

A further bright spot is that the location of the InterCityHotel now falls within the area of a newly designated pedestrianised zone. The absence of traffic will enable the hotel guests of the future to enjoy the hotel's location even more. Set in Austria's number one shopping street, the InterCityHotel Vienna integrates perfectly into the pulsating action of the city centre.

The plan is for all renovation works to be concluded by mid-May, at which time guests will be welcomed by General Manager Rene Dreier into a new and contemporary environment. The renovation works are being conducted in conjunction with APHEMA Immobilienentwicklungs GmbH, under the lead management of Dr. Ariel Muzicant, and together with the architectural company Architekt Dipl. Ing. Thomas Feiger.

"In our establishments, we set the greatest store by providing a high level of comfort", said Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. By modernising the rooms and various other areas within the hotel, we are able to enhance the sense of well-being of our guests still further."
