Breakthrough for DIGI with Info Tags in Europe and Worldwide

After thorough analyses of competition, market needs and potential, and in permanent and close collaboration with Teraoka Singapore’s direction and staff, Teraoka/DIGI Group succeeded in creating an appealing classical 7 segment Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) and now has developed the advanced Info-Tag. The latter we consider as the second generation ESL since already in 2001/2002 DIGI Belgium installed the first ESL installations in Belgium with a third party product.

By now some 350 supermarkets have been installed in Belgium, which has only about 10 million inhabitants.

Whilst safeguarding and maintaining the advanced progress of DIGI’s classical core business - thinking of the successful new scale family SM-5000/5500 – these installations proof in practice the possibilities for growth and success.

Our focus now is introducing and marketing the new DIGI ESL generation. As the pictures show, we have currently installed some 8000 Info tags in a luxury drink shop. The owner will install in his supermarket some 12000 labels early next year. I know that one swallow does not make a summer but meanwhile we have different promising irons in the fire.

During 2012 the further introduction and installation of ESL, as well segmented tags as Info tags, apart and in a mixed combination within one store, will be realized. These items, in addition to our well known core business of retail and industrial scales, wrappers and the alike, will become a firm permanent product of Teraoka/DIGI’s core business packet, offering significant potential growth for DIGI dealers and distributors. Not only in the food market segment of the local markets but even beyond such as DIY markets. DIGI’s ESL will not only contribute but will further increase and boost the DIGI foot print, the image and the market share. Belgium, without a government for over 520 days now, can do without a government, but apparently not without DIGI and its innovations for progress and growth. I will not take the risk to forget names, hence let me thank all at Teraoka HQ Tokyo and Teraoka Singapore for their confidence and cooperation to realize this goal. I do consider this a milestone in the evolution and continued progress co-guaranteeing, with all other top products, the future success of DIGI.
