Company History:

In the broadest possible sense, the success story of AHT Cooling Systems started in 1442. The founding of an ironworks at today's location followed by the progress of technology led to the manufacture of electronic household appliances by the company Bauknecht in the 50ies and 60ies of the 20th century.

A change of ownership and the reestablishment of the plant in 1983 were followed in 1988 by privatisation and then a successful IPO in 1998. Since the end of 2006, AHT has been held by Quadriga Capital.

Today, AHT operates under the name “AHT Cooling Systems GmbH” and serves the market worldwide with more than a 97% share of business going into exports.

AHT is considered to be a mid-sized company and currently provides stable jobs to around 800 qualified employees.

In the year 2007, AHT was able to generate sales of more than 200 million Euro, which makes it one of the most successful companies in the region.

Products and Services

AHT Cooling Systems GmbH operates in two sectors: industrial refrigeration and deep freezing. Here, the main lines of business are freezers and deep freezes for supermarkets, ice cream chests and beverage refrigeration.

The manufacture of freezers and deep freezes for supermarkets essentially covers ready-to-use freezers and deep freezes and accounts for around 62% of all sales. AHT is among the leading manufacturers in the global market in this sector.

In the ice cream sector as well, AHT is among the top in the world, and in addition, AHT has been able to acquire world-famous brand name manufacturers as customers in the area of beverage refrigeration in just a short time.

Quality is very important to AHT. Therefore an ISO 9001 quality management system and an ISO 14001 environmental management system have been introduced in the company. This guarantees that customers can always rely on solid quality standards and that AHT will always meet the high demands of its customers in the market.

COOLPOINT - a global service network

The philosophy of being a complete provider is being strictly pursued by AHT in terms of having the best-possible customer satisfaction. For this purpose, the company has created and is constantly expanding a worldwide service network known as the COOLPOINTS. All AHT appliances are serviced worldwide by COOLPOINT partners according to exactly defined standards and they are repaired with certified original spare parts. That way, customers can be sure to have the best quality, not only directly from the factory.
