SiCompact R3 MAXI high performance projector
The SiCompact R3 MAXI high performance projector is the answer to the trend change in current stadium architecture. In addition the R3 meets the increased demands for performance, light quality and efficiency for stadium illumination.
The Principle of Reduction
The times in which hundreds of projectors were mounted on masts high above a stadium are coming to an end. In modern sports stadiums, projectors are mounted upon the tribune roof and are an integral part of the architecture. This approach is reflected in the design of the SiCompact R3 MAXI:
Aerodynamic principles dictated the design of the housing, which accommodates the thermally isolated terminal box and ignitor box. Cables are protected on the inside of the housing. Thanks to its trapezoid mounting brackets, the R3 MAXI can be mounted simply, safely and flexibly.
Precise Light Control
The high lumen yield optic defines the form of the high-purity aluminium reflector. Its highest grade, refined surface processing enables the projector to achieve a uniquely high light output ratio up to 87%. Combined with HQI-TS 1000/2000 WDS short-arc lamps the projector creates precise focussing of light that is guided onto the playing field with almost no light scattering. Reflector variations for seven application-oriented light distribution patterns are available for a uniform playing field illumination.
Perfection and Efficiency
Thanks to uniform surface illumination, excellent colour rendition and optimal glare protection, the R3 MAXI offers maximal light comfort for athletes and spectators and fulfils Fifa guidelines for lighting suitable for television broadcasting. In addition the projector convinces with both optimal energy efficiency and cost efficiency. A sophisticated thermal management guarantees optimal cooling of the luminaire, increasing its service life.
In Use
The SiCompact R3 MAXI projector was deployed for the first time for the Heini Klopfer Ski Jump in Oberstdorf, Germany, inaugurated for the Skijumping World Championships in 2008. The World Championships took place here for the fifth time, and this year the event took place for the first time with floodlight.
Six masts, between 28 m and 40 m high, have been equipped with the new SiCompact R3 MAXI high performance projector from Siteco. A total of about 170 projectors guaranteed the best illumination for both HDTV television broadcasting and perfect ski jumping.
Efficiency, technology and design: The SiCompact R3 MAXI gains top marks all round.
