In early July 2012, SDA (Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire), a joint venture between the Lagardère Services Group and Aéroports de Paris (ADP), opened its new BuY PARIS DUTY FREE stores. The stores are located in Terminal 2 in sector S4 as well as in the passageway between sectors A and C at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport. Vizona France secured the order for the shopfitting, Ansorg France was responsible for efficient, goods-emphasising LED lighting.

The luxury stores were designed by the agency Versions. The new elegant Paris-style architecture separates the stores from ordinary airport shops. BuY PARIS DUTY FREE forms a dignified setting for the most famous French brands and exudes the magic of Paris.

Unique PoS presenting "Paris Chic"

In a elegant and smooth atmosphere the customer has an opportunity to plunge into two different realms: there are perfume and cosmetics shops, shops with gourmet food, confectionery as well as liquor and tobacco shops. Simplified routing creates a unique point of sale which presents the Parisian chic to the customers.

Product carriers support presentation

The product carriers installed by Vizona are also attractively designed in keeping with the brands. For the perfume, cosmetics and confectionery shops, wood painted white and glass were used, the colour black, on the other hand, was used for the furniture for the alcohol and gastronomy spaces. The tobacco spaces have been decorated in different shades of brown.

Lighting channel structures the ceiling

The lighting concept of the stores relies across the whole area on efficient LED solutions which do justice to the high-class goods presentation. As a dominating element in the middle of the room, the Vario lighting channel system structures the ceiling uniformly. Downlights used ensure homogeneous, bright lighting of the room and narrow-beam spotlights ccentuate the individual product carriers. The variability of the system also guarantees flexible adjustment to the different goods presentations.

Emphasizing the product carriers

Narrow-beam, gimbal-mounted, recessed spotlights are used on all of the outer ceiling areas in order to emphasise the product carriers. Along the peripheral areas, Take spotlights with a large lumen package ensure homogeneous, bright lighting of the wall shelves. The contrast with the centre of the room, on the one hand, particularly sets the scene for the goods, and, on the other hand, it provides the customer with a sense of direction in the room.

Entrance has also been attractively designed

Among the Take spotlights, narrow-beam spotlights of the Brick series are positioned which place highlights on the flat product carriers in the middle of the room. Also the attractively designed entrance area is given additional illumination and thus acquires a crowd-pulling effect. LED downlights of the Maxx series ensure lighting of the cash register area compatible with workplace requirements.
