Since 1 October 2010 Dr. Dietmar Czekay has been the new Head of Engineering at BÄRO.

On 01 October 2010 Dr. Dietmar Czekay was appointed the new Head of Engineering at BÄRO GmbH & Co. KG in Leichlingen in the Rhineland region of Germany. The expanding company is specialised in lighting and air hygiene. The previous Head of Engineering, Dr. Martin Kirsten, is now Head of Innovation and Prototype Development. With the appointment of Dr. Czekay to this role the company is greatly strengthening its expertise in research and development with respect to forward-looking, energy efficient lighting solutions. The LED specialist who holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering spent several years working intensively on further developing and increasing the efficiency of lighting technology as a postgraduate within the framework of a joint research project between the Technical University of Dresden and Siemens on the subject of "High frequency electronic ballasts for fluorescent lamps".

From 2004 up until joining BÄRO Dr. Czekay was employed by SBF Spezialleuchten Wurzen GmbH. There he held the position of Chief Designer and Sales Manager and was responsible for the development of LED-based lighting systems in rail vehicles. In 2007 he brought the first vehicle with LED lighting in the passenger sector to series production and market readiness. Furthermore, during this time Dr. Czekay was responsible for developing special LED luminaires for designer furniture at Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau.
