Wienerwald restaurants opt for NCR point of sale system

Innovative POS system from NCR and CL Solution enables restaurant chain to manage prices and products centrally in multiple countries

Value added reseller (VAR) for the hospitality industry, CL Solution, is modernizing the point of sale (POS) system at restaurant chain Wienerwald with currently 40 NCR Real POS™ 21 terminals from NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR). The NCR terminals will provide Wienerwald with a robust, reliable and easy-to-use POS system to run TiPOS hospitality industry software.

The restaurant chain presents its new look and quick-service concept in two shops re-opened in Munich since June in which Wienerwald offers a great variety of innovative and healthy dishes besides the traditional chicken. The standardized POS infrastructure will make it easier for Wienerwald to control product and price changes centrally and provides a platform for further expansion of the restaurant group in the future.

Using the TiPOS software, Wienerwald can update cross-border product options and prices on every NCR POS terminal simultaneously over the internet via a modem or VPN connection. Audits can also be carried out centrally, giving Wienerwald a quick overview of the current takings in every single outlet.

The compact POS terminals enable Wienerwald employees to enter their guests’ orders on the 15-inch touch screens, providing improvements in performance, functionality and reliability. NCR offers a wide range of peripheral devices for its POS systems, including barcode scanners, customer facing displays, payment terminals and one-sided or two-sided (2ST) thermal receipt printers. A biometric fingerprint scanner has already been integrated into the POS unit to enable Wienerwald employees to log on for their shifts. Thanks to its long lifespan and great serviceability, the NCR RealPOS 21 provides a high degree of investment protection and low total cost of ownership. Maintaining the POS terminals is easy, as it’s possible to access all internal components without the need of tools.

As NCR’s channel partner in the hospitality industry, CL Solution will be installing and providing service support on the POS system.
