Shopatron has announced that PetSense, a leading specialty pet retailer, has selected Shopatron as its inventory lookup and analytics partner to support its new e-commerce site that launched in November 2014.

The Shopatron Retailer platform will support more than 3,000 PetSense product SKUs and allows the retailer to see which items were searched for at what location to help guide its merchandising decisions. The entire implementation was completed in 60 days in coordination with Shopatron’s integration partner, Gamma FX. PetSense will implement inventory lookup and analytics capabilities for more than 20 additional stores in 2015.

PetSense was in the process of launching its new ecommerce platform when the retailer made the decision to enhance the new site with an inventory lookup tool. The combination of a FREE two-year pilot, as well as support for development, integration and styling made Shopatron the easy choice as its order fulfillment partner.

“PetSense selected Shopatron as its preferred omnichannel partner because of their flexibility, generous testing and trial periods, and speed of implementation. Together with Shopatron, we completed store-level inventory lookup in less than six weeks from the date of our first meeting, an unheard of turnaround for most ecommerce development projects,” said Joshua Patterson, e-commerce director, PetSense.

Launched in September 2014, Shopatron’s FREE two-year pilot program represents the industry’s first-ever suite of omnichannel order management solutions available on a free trial basis, setting a new standard for how order management services are deployed. The pilot program gives retailers the option to select the solution modules that meet their current needs, and the flexibility to add modules as their requirements evolve to include more of the solutions they need to compete. Those modules include:

  • Ship-from-Store
  • Same Day In-Store Pickup
  • Inventory Lookup
  • Ship-to-Store for In-Store Pickup
  • Ship-from-Warehouse
  • In-Store Returns
  • Vendor Drop Ship

“We want to be known as a retailer that delivers great service, selection and prices in our brick-and-mortar stores. While we hope online sales are robust, we are confident that our omnichannel efforts will allow us to connect with shoppers in a more meaningful way. Retailing is no longer separate channels, and we want to be on the forefront of integrating all customer points of contact into a seamless shopping experience,” added Patterson. “The Shopatron platform is a huge part of this initiative, allowing customers to look up their local store’s inventory without ever leaving their home.”

Patterson also noted that PetSense hopes to roll out order online and pick-up in-store features in 2015 to further enhance the customer experience.

“PetSense is experiencing rapid growth into rural markets across the country, and we are honored that they have chosen Shopatron as its order fulfillment partner,” said Ed Stevens, founder and CEO, Shopatron. “Today’s retail reality is that the savviest of shoppers now expect their favorite retailers to offer them real-time and local inventory visibility. Leaders in this initiative, like PetSense, are quickly making their footprint in today’s omnichannel world and we look forward to working with them to change the face of ecommerce.”
