MetaPack has announced the appointment of David Jack as Group CIO. He will be responsible for overseeing all software engineering and will report directly to Patrick Wall, CEO and founder of MetaPack Group.

David has a wealth of experience managing high value, fast growing and transformational software teams in a mixture of global software companies, disruptive start-ups and technology centered retail businesses.

In 2004 David joined Betfair, where he ran the engineering team during a period of exceptional transactional and regional growth and during this time also co-founded, sourced funding for and span out LMAX, which is one of the worlds' fastest, most transparent retail financial derivatives exchanges. David joined thetrainline.com as CIO in 2009 and during his almost five year tenure was responsible for all aspects of technology for the UK's leading online rail ticket retailing business.

"David is a commercially focused, passionate and technology-obsessed CIO with a proven track record of change and he will be instrumental in devising and directing our development," said Patrick Wall.  "In his varied career, David has continually demonstrated his ability to evangelise new technical innovation and drive business growth whilst developing strong creative teams. We are delighted to welcome him to MetaPack where he will be a critical part of our global management team."

The MetaPack Group has achieved 50 per cent annual growth for the past five consecutive years and was ranked 51st in the annual Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100, which features private companies with fast growing sales. In April 2015 Gartner included MetaPack in its highly contested ‘Cool Vendors in Supply Chain Execution Applications 2015' report.

"Over the last few years, I have observed an obvious but still potent mix of retail consumer dynamics with every customer interaction being valued as an asset, a growing demand for ever more complex and dynamic pricing, with a mobile first expectation delivered in an omnichannel strategy. All of these elements are already successfully at play within MetaPack, where customer engagement is right at the core of what the company does," said David Jack.

"MetaPack is a dynamic, fast-growth company and is already a leading provider of delivery management solutions to some of Europe's best-known retailers and their partners," commented David Jack. "I am excited to be joining an established and talented team with ambitious plans to take the company to even higher levels where its best-in-class solutions make the difference between an ordinary and an exceptional customer delivery experience" he concluded.
